Boating License 12 – Powerboat Class A

Boating License 12 allows you to operate a speedboat (Class A) in Israel’s coastal waters, in accordance with the Ministry of Transport and Shipping regulations.
This is the most popular license for water sports enthusiasts, adrenaline experiences, and private or family maritime activities.

Who Can Get a Boating License 12?
Minimum age of 17 years to study Class A powerboat.
Israeli resident or holder of an appropriate residence permit.
Passing the required medical examinations.
Passing a theoretical and practical exam (test) of the Ministry of Transport.
Important to know: Without an approved medical certificate, you cannot take the exams or obtain the license.

To obtain Boating License 12 you must successfully complete:

Theoretical exam – includes:
Maritime traffic rules
Day and night identification signals, flags, and horns
Maritime safety, maritime traffic laws, and first aid
Practical exam – correct and safe operation of the boat, including a short oral theoretical exam
Control of steering and engine
Maneuvering at the pier and in open water
Entering and exiting a port
Rescue drill and life buoy throwing
What Does Our Course Include?
15 full theoretical lessons, accompanied by recorded videos, adapted to the official Ministry of Transport curriculum.
Practical training at sea for one hour on a speedboat with a certified instructor, plus a short additional practice on exam day.
Full preparation for exams – including practice with the complete question bank, simulations, and practice tests monitored by a remote instructor.
Personal guidance until you receive your license!
Does not include government fees to the State of Israel.
If you fail the practical exam, an additional fee of 400 ILS + VAT is charged to the school for an extra lesson and re-examination submission.
